Joanna + Tyler had the perfect Intimate Backyard Wedding in Edisto Island, SC.

Everything about this Intimate Backyard Wedding in October was perfect. Joanna got ready with her best friends upstairs, while Tyler and his friends set up the bar, the tablescapes, and the yard games. It was warm and sticky like Carolina afternoons are– but their ceremony just an hour before sunset and some clouds rolling in made for the most insanely beautiful colors to compliment their al fresco dinner and the glow of the bistro lights.

Joanna + Tyler’s wedding is also proof that DIY backyard weddings can still be stunning. Joanna’s mother made (yes, made!) her jewelry, and put together the gorgeous florals on the tables. For everything else they kept it simple, and let the landscape take charge of the decor. The river, the stunning oak and palm trees, and the long stretch of marsh behind Tyler’s parents’ property was everything this wedding needed.

The rest of the day was beautifully laid back, and I had the opportunity to shoot a ton of film that turned out to be some of my all time favorite film images from any wedding.
