Mikayla + Kevin had the perfect Lake Como wedding at a Villa just minutes from the water.

This day was everything I have ever wanted and more. Every photographer dreams of going overseas to shoot in Europe, and even though I’ve photographed in France and Italy before, there was something extra special about this Lake Como wedding.

Mikayla + Kevin wanted to have the perfect Italian summer dream wedding vibes that everyone’s been pinning on Pinterest, but also equally wanted to honor the beautiful country they chose to get married in. They used only local vendors (except for me!) and even had a private chef cook a multi-course meal for the wedding night dinner– complete with fresh (and insanely delicious) Carbonara.

After the ceremony we headed straight to the lake– what’s a Lake Como wedding without a boat ride? While the family and friends got settled in to cocktail with caprese and aperol spritz, we took a thirty minute ride around Como as a thunderstorm started to roll in. It was magical, it was moody, it was romantic… I’ll remember it forever. Core memory. I wish we could have stayed out there for hours! And the guys at Lake Como Boats were very experienced with piloting a boat with a photographer running around in it.

Another quick favorite thing before we dive in to photos– Mikayla + Kevin had never been to Italy before their wedding week, they hadn’t even been to Europe!
