Kam + Kara’s NYC City Hall Elopement was THE elopement that made me obsessed with courthouse weddings.
It was about two weeks before I had a scheduled engagement session with Kam + Kara when I got an email saying “we’ve made some changes… is there any way we can hop on a call?” That day I had THE most joyful call with Kam + Kara when they announced to me that they had last minute decided to scratch the big wedding they were planning for 2024 and plan a NYC city hall elopement. I was beyond excited for them– spontaneity is one of my favorite things about my couples and their wedding celebrations.
We both moved around our schedules on the elopement day to make sure we had enough time to tell the full story of their morning wedding, from getting ready together in the penthouse of NoMo SoHo, strolling to their quick but extremely emotional and intimate city hall ceremony, and then taking the subway for espresso martinis and a first dance in the streets of the West Village.
I couldn’t stop talking about their day– not only how beautiful and loving their relationship is (and beyond easy to photograph!) but also my newfound passion for NYC city hall elopements. I could do them every day. If you’re thinking about ditching the big wedding for a day at city hall, or if you just want to celebrate your marriage by eloping just the two of you before the big day you’ve planned, I’m your girl.
Kam + Kara’s NYC city hall elopement was shot on both digital and 35mm film, developed and scanned at Pink Folder Film House in Bed-stuy. xoxoxo
